Cartoons from the Museum of Humour and Satire. Excursus # 5

In excursus # 5, cartoons from the Museum of Humour and Satire’s collection in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, take the Danube river as their subject matter and how it serves as a connecting element between ten European countries. Furthermore, the pieces explain the work and effect of the working community that has arisen out of the European countries along the Danube River.
Gabrovo’s Museum of Humour and Satire collects humorous and satirical work as a means of expression in the fine arts, literature, photography, film and theatre. The collection is comprised of more than 50,000 pieces by 6,830 artists.
Karikaturmuseum Krems’ Excursus # 5 showcases a selection of 34 pieces covering the topic of the Danube River and Europe.

Curator: Gottfried Gusenbauer, artistic director of the Karikaturmuseum Krems
